Cultural values are several different things which significantly influence and co-create the identity of particular areas and demonstrate the creativity and adaptation of a human kind to natural conditions. It can be priceless old knowledge related to plant production, hunting, forestry, food preparation ... to forgotten but important old buildings, technical knowledge, craft products, etc… A bunch of cultural values with development potential discovered in the SY_CULTour pilot areas are presented bellow.

The castle of Gagliano Aterno shows a pentagonal base and is one of the best preserved castle in the Region Abruzzo. It has a noble appearance, with a beautiful open gallery and two rows of windows which overlook the village of Gagliano Aterno. It is surrounded by a moat, and the access is through a drawbridge.
Saint Iona tower was erected in XIII century in the town of Ovindoly and was initially a watchtower, therefore it was isolated from the village. Later on, the village expanded and included the tower which became a linking point between two local castles.
The Tower of Tione degli Abruzzi was erected in XIV century as a watchtower and was therefore located in the upper part of the village; it was probably surrounded by walls, which today are not visible any more. The watchtower is 20 mt high and divided in 4 floors.
The City Hall in Sombor that dates back to 1842 represents the central architectural symbol of the city.
