Law on Cultural Heritage
Cultural values are tangible or intangible evidences of human presence and activities as well as natural sites or phenomena that are significant for the individuals, for the community or for the society as a whole and have scientific or cultural value and/or are of significance for the Bulgarian orthodox church and other registered religions. Immobile cultural heritage comprises cultural values permanently fixed to the ground along with their surrounding environment or such cultural values located under water. Mobile cultural heritage comprises all other cultural values (i.e. excluding immobile cultural values and intangible cultural values) the significance of which stays unchanged irrespective of their location including such cultural values under water.

Law on Protection and Development of Culture
This law establishes the basic principles and priorities of national cultural policy, cultural organizations and the protection of culture, of its national identity and ways to support and finance culture and artists. The term 'cultural value' is used in the meaning of the Law of Cultural Heritage.

Law of Patronage
A term 'Cultural work' under this law shall mean any work of art created as a result of creative activity and expressed by any means or in any form. Activities carried out within archaeological research, restoration and conservation related to the protection of cultural heritage are creative activities and they may be awarded a grant under this Act.

Law of the Community Centres (Chitalishta)
The main cultural values related to the activities of the 'Community centres' are intangible heritage such as all kinds of oral tradition and folk literature, performances, games, customs and habits, handcrafts.

Law of military memorials
Only the definition of war memorials is given: war memorials within the meaning of this law are immovable material evidence in memory and honour of soldiers from the Bulgarian army who took part in wars led by the Bulgarian state, the Bulgarian soldiers who died while participating in operations and missions outside the country and in serving their duties in times of peace to protect the population, participants in the Bulgarian volunteer forces during the Russo-Turkish War and participants in the Macedonian-Adrianopolitan Volunteer. The military memorials which have status of cultural property are protected under the Cultural Heritage Act.

Ordinance H-6 of 11 December 2009 for the formation and management of museum stocks
Only the definition of museum stock (basic, exchange and scientific stock) is given: All movable cultural values acquired by state, municipal and private museums and museums with mixed ownership, hereinafter 'museums', form their basic, scientific and exchange stocks. Basic stocks include movable cultural values registered as national treasures and cultural values that match the thematic scope of the museum. The exchange stocks include movable cultural values which do not match its thematic scope or repeat with its basic stocks. Scientific stocks include artefacts and other material relevant to the research, exhibition and educational activities of the museum.

Ordinance 5/14.05.1998 for the declaration of immobile cultural heritage
Definition of immobile heritage is given: Immobile cultural and historical heritage within the meaning of this instrument is the totality of authentic material evidence for human being and human activities that belongs inseparably to the environment in which or for which it has been created, along with lastingly belonging to it mobile heritage.
